Many travelers don't realize just how different vacation ownership is from staying at a hotel or a vacation rental.

As an Owner at Hilton Grand Vacations, I appreciate traveling with the comforts of home and having peace of mind.

Here are the nine resort-style amenities that make my Hilton Grand Vacation timeshare worth it.

1. Well-Supplied Marketplaces

This is a terrific service because let's face it, we all forget to bring that one thing.

Often, hotel sundries sell travel-sized items like deodorant, mouthwash, toothpaste and toothbrushes, for example. Most of the time, you'll find necessities like anti-nausea and pain medication, which comes in handy when you're not feeling well.

However, many Hilton Grand Vacations' marketplaces run the gamut from sunglass to grab-and-go food offerings, to thoughtfully-curated wine selections and more. I find traveling is less stressful because even if I forget to pack an item, the property has everything I need.

2. Fitness Facilities

If you're the type of traveler, who can't miss your sweat session while you're on vacation, this is for you. The fitness facilities at Hilton Grand Vacations' properties and resorts rival many higher-end membership gyms.

They're updated regularly and mindfully-designed to consider health and hygiene (think: socially distant).

3. Resort-Like Activities and Recreation Areas

Each property and resort is unique, but no matter where you're staying, you're sure to find plenty of memory-making fun without having to leave. From playgrounds to movie nights and recreation rooms complete with billiards, there's something for everyone.

4. Laundry Facilities

Most Hilton Grand Vacation resorts have laundry facilities, whether in-room or in shared spaces. This is an amazing benefit since it means having to pack less and not going home with a suitcase full of dirty clothes.

5. Concierge Service

I've used the concierge service on several occasions, especially if I'm unfamiliar with my surroundings. You can always rely on the concierge to make knowledgeable recommendations on everything from car rental to excursions to dining and entertainment.

They're familiar with the area and have relationships with local businesses (ask about the Grand Experiences Card).

6. Fully Equipped Kitchens

Let's face it; there are times when you just don't feel like dressing up to go out on the town for dinner. You want to curl up in your robe and spend a quiet night in your studio or suite. Thankfully, vacation ownership allows you access to a private, fully equipped kitchen or kitchenette, depending on your accommodations.

Run down to the marketplace for a grab-and-go meal or snack to enjoy during a movie night in, or fill the fridge and prepare a few family-style meals during your vacation.

7. Swoon Worthy Resort Pools

Another great way to relax is to spend time by the pool or soak in the hot tub before bed. Having at least one of these on the premises is a plus when you're on vacation.

I love that timeshares through Hilton Grand Vacations offer so many different resort pool options. Heated pools, infinity pools, and pools with waterslides, waterfalls, grottos and more.

I've also noticed lots of different seating options, such as cabanas. Not everyone loves the sun, so it provides Owners and Guests an opportunity to kick back and relax just the way they like.

8. Private Balconies

Whenever I travel, what I most look forward to is knowing that a balcony awaits me. I love sitting outside and listening to the crickets chirp and admiring the beauty of the moon as it reflects on the surface of the ocean or pool.

Thankfully, most Hilton Grand Vacations' accommodations have a private terrace. When you experience unbearably cold temperatures as we do in Canada, this is a must-have.

9. Business Center

For those of you who choose to stay connected while on vacation, most properties have a business center on-site so that you can check your e-mail and ensure that everything back home is fine. You can also use it to check-in for flights, submit virtual school assignments or print your boarding passes.
